Korphos
AboutcemeteryPeriod750 BC – AD 2026
Based on chance finds and a subsequent small excavation on Melos in the 1960s, Renfrew ventured the possibility of an archaic-classical cemetery (possibly with Hellenistic or Roman activity as well). He labeled it after the modern village of "Korphos" and described its location as "c. 1.5 kilometers northwest of Zephyria". The coordinates provided today by OpenStreetMap for the hamlet of Korfos itself are rather more like 3km from Zefiria as the bird flies.
